Union County: One less active license to practice law in Q2 than previous quarter

There was one less active legal license in Union County in the second quarter of 2023 compared to the previous quarter, according to the State Bar of New Mexico.

There were four active legal licenses in Union County in the second quarter of 2023, compared to five the quarter before.

Data refers to all lawyers who were actively practicing during this time period.

As of 2023, the average salary for a lawyer in New Mexico is around $93,034 per year.

There is a severe lawyer shortage in New Mexico. Two counties in New Mexico have no attorneys, while 21 percent of the state's counties have no more than five lawyers.
