In the early hours of Friday, December 9, 2022, the Taos County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a roll-over crash with injuries, located Milepost 37 on State Road 68, just south of Stakeout Drive.
Deputies located the crash and found there were two fatalities, and one injured female. The female was transported from the scene and then flown by air ambulance to University of New Mexico Trauma Center, in Albuquerque, for treatment of her injuries.
On December 10, 2022 next of kin was located and proper notifications were made at that time.
The following are the decedents:
Whon, Ojeike Keiko, Washington, 47-year-old, Male, from San Francisco, California
Gina, Rowena, Weathers, 52-year-old, Female, from New Hampshire
The injured female involved in the crash, Geoanna Bluebird Bolduc, also from New Hampshire.
The crash investigation is still ongoing, investigators are working to determine who was driving at the time of the crash. At-scene indicators show high speed and no seatbelts as contributing factors in the crash.
All three individuals involved in the crash were siblings, and were visiting family in the Taos area. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this tragedy, more details will be released as investigation is completed and more is known about the crash.
