Taos Youth Coding League, sponsored by UNM-Taos HIVE, was recognized at the Taos County Commission meeting this week and presented a certificate for their outstanding performance and achievement; both teams have made it to the national final play-offs.
UNM-Taos HIVE is so very proud of our Youth Coding League teams, the "Flying Bananas" and "Taco Cats", led by their coding coach Lee Shawver from Taos Academy. Over 20 students participated in this program working and studying together twice a week for the last three months. They completed 8 Sprints in preparation for the Play-offs, where each team created their final project based on their key learnings.
The winning teams will be announced this Friday. UNM-Taos HIVE is committed to growing this program in the next 5 years in our Northern New Mexico schools. For more information contact Rose at taoshive@unm.edu.
