Planned Power & Internet Outage 69 kV Transmission Pole Replacement
Reason:
Due to unforeseen construction events, KCEC is changing the outage times for the replacement of a significant transmission, distribution, and internet fiber pole
October 20, 2022 – Taos, NM - Kit Carson Electric Cooperative (KCEC) crews and contractors are working on replacing a 69 kV transmission, distribution and internet pole affected by last winter’s squall. The KCEC crews and contractors are working to install the new robust metal pole but have encountered unforeseen construction events, thus changing the planned power and internet outages. In addition, a natural gas transmission pipe is approximately 2-5 feet from the placement of the new pole. Crews are utilizing the highest safety protocols and procedures. KCEC will inform you of any changes or delays in the project.
Crews continue to work diligently on site and the new outage times are as follows:
Friday, October 21, 2022: Members on ST Rd 240 and Cullebra Rd
