KCEC crews & contractors have been working early this morning, through the cold, to replace a significant pole with a more robust metal pole. . Crews must take the highest safety precautions due to a natural gas transmission line approximately 2 ft away. The new metal pole will enhance the resiliency of KCEC's grid. Thank you to all employees, line crew and contractors for your contribution. We encourage members to be patient with us as we work to replace the electric 69kV transmission, distribution and internet pole. KCEC crews are also replacing a leaky step-down transformer that will increase reliability.
