A big thanks to volunteers from the Continental Divide Trail Coalition who earlier this month maintained 4.25 miles of this national scenic trail over three days, putting in a cumulative total of 312 hours!
They cleared deadfalls and encroaching vegetation, restored tread and drainages, and put in new signage in the Canjilon Lakes areas (around mile 708, if you’re familiar).
The Carson National Forest is home to 103 miles of the 3,100-mile trail that winds through deserts and alpine peaks between Mexico and Canada. It takes many people to maintain it, from trail adopters (segments available!) to other partners, whose accomplishments we’ll share later this summer and fall.
