This week we’ve received multiple calls about a scam going around. The caller states he’s an officer with Taos PD and their “loved one” has been in an accident. They even give their name and then a female in the background starts screaming. Another scam states they are drug dealers and your loved one witnessed a drug deal and “I now have a gun to their head if you don’t do as I ask”.
Eventually, the caller says to go alone to a specific place and they ask for money.
Don’t be fooled. Just hand up or better yet don’t answer a number or message you don’t recognize.
