2022 TCSO and Taos Police investigated a crash involving significant damages but only minor injuries were reported.
20 yo James Archuleta was arrested in connection to a two vehicle crash located near the southside Diamond Shamrock. Archuleta was driving a 2016 Dodge Challenger northbound when he struck a 2014 Nissan Altima from behind, causing both vehicles to travel off the roadway.
The 2016 Dodge Charger left the roadway and struck the Southside Mantes Chowcart restaurant, causing significant damage to the building. There were no reported injuries to the driver or passengers in the Nissan Altima. James Archuleta was transported to Holy Cross Hospital by ambulance for precautionary measures.
Further investigation led investigators to suspect alcohol was involved and a contributing factor in this crash, at this time the investigation is ongoing.
