Carson National Forest fire crews have increased containment of the five-acre Osha Fire to 100%. Crews will continue to visit the scene this week to patrol for any interior hot spots and smoke before calling the fire fully controlled and out.
The Osha Fire was first reported near the Las Mochas community around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22, after downed power lines ignited surrounding vegetation. It is located near the Osha Trailhead and is within the 2011 Osha Fire burn scar, surrounded by natural barriers, such as rocks.
On-site weather for the rest of the week will be highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s. A chance of precipitation is forecasted for Wednesday followed by windy conditions on Friday.
