@nmagintheclassroom has created many Ag Literacy Projects throughout the years, but we think it’s safe to say that “Yucky Worms” is a fan favorite. From the fun of holding a worm and feeling it wiggle and move, to learning about the science of WHY a worm eats what it does, moves the way it moves, and WHY they are important for good soil health - students walk away from this project with a gained sense of appreciation for farmers and ranchers and are able to make connections between their everyday life & agriculture… AND particularly how they can be friends with all the worms they see!
Thank you, once again, @colfaxflb and your supportive board members for helping make this 3-day trip possible by reaching out to teachers and administration in your community to get @nmagintheclassroom to your local students.
BIG shoutout and Thank You goes to Ms. Kesly Armstrong, who assisted throughout each presentation by reading the project book and answering lots of squirmy worm questions, at the elementary school in Springer. We visited with grades k-6, so Kesly got a good experience of presenting to young students. Her passion for agriculture runs deep in her veins and GENES.
Great job, Kesly - the students LOVED having you involved. I look forward to having you join in again, any time!
