New Mexico Highlands University enrolls 1,868 undergrads

At New Mexico Highlands University, 57 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 63 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Las Vegas enrolled 3,037 students in fall 2018, including 1,868 in undergraduate and 1,169 in graduate programs, data shows. 19.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

77 percent of undergraduates are residents of New Mexico, and 22 percent are residents of other states. 1 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as Hispanic or Latino (58 percent) and white (20 percent).
